Hollyhock Blossoms

I think I'm finally done with this painting, though technically it's still taped to my board and I'm far too likely to change my mind about it's being finished. And it just occurred to me as I uploaded it that I have no idea what to title it.

Currently on the Board...

I can't seem to help myself; I always have multiple projects going at once. I still haven't finished Geoff in Italy, but now I have a new painting of Hollyhocks in progress.

The Onion Paintings

Onion Days

Over Labor Day weekend I had a booth at Payson Onion Days. It was a lot of fun, and it was really hot. Or, at least, mostly it was hot - when it wasn't freezing. I suppose that's what happens when you live in a desert. The really absurd thing is when you ask two people at the very same moment and one replies that she is melting while the other one says she's freezing. (I feel justified in using the pronoun 'she' since it was mostly women tending our booth).
I sold paintings and cards, my mom sold small quilts, and my mom's friend Monica sold jewelry. By the way, here's the link to check out my mother's wonderful quilts: http://rochellescreation.blogspot.com/

I got the best part of the deal because my job during this was to sit and paint. I finished one painting and got a great start on another. Several people commented that mine was the only booth that had anything related to onions in the whole of Onion Days. Slightly ironic since my sisters all teased me that just because it was Onion Days did not mean I had to paint onions; but I'll admit, I'm pretty charmed by my onion paintings.

Latest Attempt

This is my current project. As you can see, it's still taped to my board. I've tried painting this subject three times before this; though I have to say, I like this version better than the previous versions of it. Now, all I have to do is overcome the fear that I will ruin it by finishing it.
